So Happy Birthday, Prodigal Tourist.

Here is my tea story, as well: When I was on a six-month visa to England, I met a young man at my church who invited me to his place for tea. I accepted and moments later had several girls pulling me aside to ask if I knew where "his place" was. They informed me that the gentleman was the Queen's butler and "his place" was Buckingham Palace.

I had to fill out some paperwork, to have a background check. On the designated day, I appeared at the side entrance, gave my name and reason for calling. They handed me a security pass and paiged my "paige"! It was a thrilling tea, not so much for his company, but because I was marvelling over all the posters on his wall of his trips with the Queen and especially thrilled with his genuine royal bedspread from the Victorian era (my era of focus in college).

If you want to read my longer version of this extraordinary event, you can find it at http://ofbooksandboys.blogspot.com/2008/02/oh-yeah-tea-at-buckingham-palace.html

Thanks for entering me into your tea giveaway!Wendy Hillhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00617610975455575846noreply@blogger.com
